Although any time of year is the right season to discuss various disasters/crises, this summer is particularly important with hurricane season on the horizon, wildfire season already underway, and increased incidents of police violence during peaceful protest actions. What’s Next on Our Docket?
A Disaster Justice Guidebook for Disabled People of the Global Majority
SeededGround has turned our attention toward producing a global edition of the Disaster Justice Guidebook. There are several weather-related and human-caused crises happening around the world each day that severely impact people with disabilities in non-western nations.
We hope to address relevant issues related to genocides, war, civil unrest, earthquakes, famines, droughts, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, coastal erosion/sea level rise, water contamination, public health emergencies, etc. This global edition of the guidebook will curate contributions/lessons learned from disaster survivors with disabilities throughout Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Central America, South America, and Australia.

Eyewitness Accounts: An Anthology on Love, Loss & Liberation
Eyewitness Accounts is a curated anthology comprised of narrative nonfiction and personal essays written by Blind people of color. Each contributed piece will bear witness to diverse perspectives on love, loss, and liberation.
Although creatively written, Eyewitness Accounts will be true to the lived experiences of each contributor. The series will serve as a collection of embodied evidence gathered directly from Blind folks of color on the scene of social struggle, pleasure, pain, parenthood, believability barriers, beauty standards, artistry, advocacy, personal accomplishments, crises/conflict, pay disparities, carceral systems, educational endeavors etc.
With such an intentional approach, this series will offer vastly different viewpoints from the intersection of race and disability. It is at once an affirmation of what has happened and an exploration of what can happen when Blind folks of color share their own stories.
